Australia Post Price Increase Effective 28th June 2010

On 28th June 2010, rates for domestic reserve letter delivery by Australia Post will increase with the ACCC approving Australia Posts' application made 1st April 2010.

The increase is the 3rd within the past 18 years and is justified by increased costs in related and parrallel industry services.

So what are the new prices?

Small Letter (under 125g) 60c (+ 8.3% on 55c)
Large Letter (under 125g) $1.20(+ 8.3% on $1.10)

Presort Letters + 6.9%
Acquisition Mail + 6.8%
Registered Mail + 6.5%

Reply Paid 43c (+ 2.3% on 42c)
Clean Mail 51c (+ 5.8% on 48c)

With 200,000 new delivery points added to the system each year and with over a current registery of 10.7 million, the new increases will arguably maintain world-class postal services across Australia.
